Our SH-SS01 switch could be used as a single pole switch or a 3-way switch, this article will show you some tips about how to install SH-SS01 as a 3-way switch. (Click here to see how to use SS01 as a single pole switch).

please first find your master switch(the one connects with power source(line)), and replace that switch with our SS01 Smart Security Switch.
A 3-way switch will have 4 mandatory wires and 1 possible wires. The 4 mandatory wires are the 2 traveler wires and the line and Neutral. The SH-SS01 does require a Neutral wire to be present at the Line side of the 3-way run. If a Neutral wire is not present on the line side, the SH-SS01 cannot be installed.(Click here to check if you have a neutral or not.) If you could't find the neutral line by yourself, please contact a professional electrician. Except from the need wires, the ground wire is recommended but not required.

- Non-Contact Voltage Tester
- Insulated Philips and Flathead screwdrivers
- A set of wire nuts.
- How to Install?
- Shut off power at the circuit breaker for the switch you are replacing. Use a non contact voltage tester to ensure power is off.
- Make sure the existing switch box has a neutral wire. Removing the existing wall plate.
- Turn on power at the circuit breaker and use a noncontact voltage tester to check which one is live(line), the tester will flash or chirp when it comes close to a line wire no matter the light is on or not. Then check the traveler wires as well. Turn off he power at the circuit breaker and label the wires. Remove old switch by disconnecting all wires.
- Follow the wiring diagram to connect the wires
- Use screws to secure switch into your wall. Then Snape on included faceplate. If your original faceplate accommodates multiple switches, you may opt to use it instead.
- Restore power by turning on the breaker.
- Once power is connected, the LED indicator will blink blue to indicate it is ready to pair with your SECURAM GUARD App using Wi-Fi.
